Mr Waseem Bhat MD, MA, MRCS, MSc, FRCS, Dip Hand Surg

Mr Waseem Bhat is a revered Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive, Aesthetic and Hand Surgeon. He stands at the forefront of his field and works within the NHS and in the private sector, offering patients a wide range of transformative procedures for the face, skin, body, breasts and hands.

Mr Bhat is on the Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery with the General Medical Council. He is a full member of BAPRAS (British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons) and BSSH (British Society for Surgery of the Hands).

Mr Bhat began his clinical training at the Yorkshire Deanery. From here he went on to complete further training in Plastic Surgery at Bristol and Oxford before undergoing specialist training in Plastic Surgery on the North East Deanery rotation. In addition to this, Mr Bhat has undertaken advanced training fellowships at Leeds General Infirmary in microsurgery and complex upper and lower limb reconstruction, as well as a nationally appointed advanced training programme fellowship (Training Interface Group) in Hand Surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham. He further developed his skills in Microsurgery reconstruction, supermicrosurgery and lymphedema surgery in units in Paris, Barcelona, Florence, and Helsinki. Mr Bhat has achieved an MSc in Reconstructive microsurgery, and the Diploma in Hand Surgery (Br).

Beyond his clinical practice, Mr Bhat is a prolific researcher with a portfolio of over 40 articles published in peer-reviewed journals, as well as authoring book chapters, He has more than 50 presentations at national and international conferences.

Mr Waseem Bhat currently practises privately at Spire Hospital in Leeds, Coppergate Clinic in York, and Leeds General Infirmary. With multiple areas of interest, Mr Bhat applies his skill across a variety of surgical fields, including facial surgery, breast surgery, abdominoplasty and other body contouring procedures, hand surgery (nerve, tendon and joint replacements), microsurgery, and skin cancer. When working within the NHS he also performs procedures related to complex reconstruction of the upper and lower limbs, bone infection, lymphedema and is member of the Leeds, U.K hand transplant team.
